Opening Pandora’s box that’s what happens when you stretch out for the truth
You should mark the calendar the day that you actively decided to make a difference with your life. Why? Well, much like the picture suggests, you are about to grab the pry bar firmly with both hands and open up Pandora’s box.
Once you open the lid and you know more and more about yourself, you unleash a powerful force that is hard to put back. What I am talking about are events that follow your spiritual awaking along the long path of finding happiness and self-fulfillment. Every step of the way you come across new wisdom and knowledge.
This is like peeling an onion. Layer for layer you are peeling away you get closer to your inner core. The more you do this, the closer you get to your purpose. The last peel is your ultimate truth.
Now that you are there try to look back at your path. It will be all but impossible to go back to who you used to be. Have you ever been in a situation like this? It is outright unsettling. Once you have tasted the truth and you possess even only an ounce of emotional intelligence you would have to bribe yourself to go back to your old ways.
Problem is that in social and work settings, people have got you pegged and categorized in one way shape or form. You have changed though, but peer pressure may be forcing you to not be genuinely yourself. That is not a long term sustainable condition without causing major frustration or even depression.
If your are committed to living in congruence with your purpose, one certain way to start is to undergo personality assessment tests. Frequently used ones are the Myers-Briggs and DISC profiles. I personally prefer the Enneagram. I filled out all three of them in the last 5 years and I have never been the same again. Each one revealed caveats of me that I otherwise would have never looked for.
If you want to know more about yourself, go ahead and go for it. To me that is the only way. Just make absolutely sure that you are prepared for the aftermath. Once you look you will be committed to going all the way or you will end up even more frustrated – be careful with your choices.
